Responsible for the overall management of the finance and accounting functions of the client in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the client's policies and guidelines.

Markhouse Partners is an established accounting firm providing auditing and management consultancy services among others.

Our client, an NGO operating in Gulu is seeking to recruit a finance manager. The position carries an attractive remuneration package commensurate to the responsibilities. He or She should have good sense of respect for and sensitivity to multicultural and diverse environments. Experience in dealing with International agencies is an added advantage.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Reporting to the Operations director
2. Responsible for the overall management of the finance and accounting functions of the client in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the client's policies and guidelines.
3. Ensure all finance and accounting systems are properly maintained to provide information required for planning, directing, monitoring and reporting on programme activities and operations.
4. Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports according to the client's accounting policies and guidelines.
5. Ensure requests for funding are made in a timely manner to enable reliable cash flow for programme activities.
6. Ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place at all time, and coordinating the external audit exercises
7. Offer leadership in the budgetary process and cash management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree: preferably Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration or other related business field. Full qualification in ACCA or CPA. A masters degree in Business Administration or financial management would be an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role working in developing countries, preferably in Uganda for an international NGO.
Language: Fluency in spoken and written English
Other skills: Computer proficiency especially in accounting packages such as Quick books, Tally or Pastel. Flexible in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
