Logistics Management Information Systems Officer (LMIS Officer)
Organization: Secondment to National Medical Stores (NMS), located in Entebbe
Overall Responsibilities
The Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS) Officer is a position on secondment to National Medical Stores. S/he reports to (he MIS Manager of NMS and works closely with the LMIS specialist in the SURE project to strengthen the efficiency of NMS' LMIS. The LMIS officer assists in the assessment, development and implementation activities aimed at strengthening and streamlining at all levels of NMS' supply chain system. The LMIS officer works closely with other NMS staff and stakeholders to ensure that the NMS system is responsive to both NMS managerial needs and customers for planning and monitoring. The LMIS officer assists the MIS manager to ensure that NMS' LMIS efficiently integrates with the National and district level LMIS and or other stakeholder LMIS'. The LMIS officer will also assist the development and collection of indicators to monitor the efficiency of the LMIS as well as assisting in implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications
1) Bachelors Degree in Information technology, health information systems or other related discipline.
2) At least 3 years experience in the conceptualization and design of manual and automated health information systems preferably in the field of health, pharmaceuticals
3) Detailed and up to date knowledge of current supply chain management best practices.
4) Experience with database management and system integration.
5) Advanced computer (hardware and software) skills,
6) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other stakeholders in developing creative and strategic solutions to achieve common goals.
7) Working experience in Uganda.
