INTEGRATED COMMUNITY BASED INITIATIVES (ICOBI)
Integrated Community Based Initiatives (1COBI) is a national NGO established in 1994 to improve the quality of life of people living in rural communities. Since its inception, ICOBI has been implementing programs in the health and community development fields. ICOBI is implementing EMPOWER OVC Project with funding from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and is seeking dynamic and highly motivated people to fill the following positions in (ICOBI)
1.JOB TITLE: DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
POSITION LOCATION: KAMPALA
1. Deputise the Executive Director
2. Manage and coordinate the organization's programs
3. Initiate programs, projects and strategies and activities that address organization needs for incorporation in the ICOBI strategic plan and other work plans and ensure organizational strategies become operational.
4. Work with the Executive Director,consultants and other officers in the development, revision and implementation of work plans and budgets.
5. Monitor achievements of projects objectives and take a lead role in the preparation of quarterly, annual, programmatic and financial reports.
6. Develop and monitor operational budgets, ensuring smooth and timely flow of resources to the beneficiaries and field activities.
7. Take lead in preparation of papers for dissemination or publication in consultation with the Executive Director.
8. Provide guidance to all ICOBI staff and consultants to ensure the technical quality of all interventions and ensure that reports and accountabilities are submitted in time.
9. Represent ICOBI at some functions and participate in national and international level meetings.
10.Develop and maintain networks with cfonors, partners' \ agencies, and districts for resource sharing and cost sharing,
11. Work with Project Managers to carry out resource mobilization through proposal writing and any other method
12.To work with project managers to generate reports and budgets.
13.Work and network with donors and other partners in the same: field as well as Local Governments
14.Hold review meetings with staff to provide feedback on performance.
15.Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications and competencies.
1. Bachelors of Medicine, Social Sciences or Management.
2. Masters in Public Health, Business Administration or Health Services Management
3 Post graduate training in Project Planning and management will be an added advantage.
4 Experience of 10 years in Senior Management in an NGO environment.
5 Practical evidence of strong program coordination and concrete understanding of HIV/AIDS issues in Uganda and globally.
6.Strong conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
