Qualifications:
a) Must have Enrolled Midwife Certificate
b) Registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
c) Observation, Judgment, Council, Communication and skills
d) Management, Counselling, Commission and inter-personal skills
e) Should have a patience focused approach and pleasant personality
Duties and Responsibilities
a)Providing total care to mothers during pregnancy with emphasis on identifying high risk cases and provision of health Education provided.
b) Ensuring that an aseptic technique is adhered to carrying out deliverance.
c) Providing total care to mothers during labour with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complication to mother and baby.
d) Ensuring that the baby's air passage are clear, assess and keep baby warm, constantly watch the umbilical cod and carry out immunization.
e) Being able to manage obstetrical emergencies and refer complicated to the doctor.
f) Keeping mother comfortable, ally their anxiety and ensure a health environment.
g) Adhering to measure concerning professional code of conduct, h) Registering and notifying the authority about the birth of the
new born. i) Maintaining personal contact with patients, taking note of their complaints, reporting if necessary and ensuring confidentiality. j) Participating in primary Health Care activities
