Qualifications:
a) A National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Techniques from a recognised institution.
b) Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Coucil
c) Experience of at least three years as a Health Worker.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Participating in carrying out labortory investigations, interpreting results and submitting reports to clinicians.
b) Laising with ward mamagement in the preparation of patients for laboratory tests.
c) Enforcing safety measures against hazard and ensuring safe disposal of laboratory wastes
d) Enforcing quality control programmes in the laboratories, proper specimen's management and and laboratory wastes disposal
e) Carrying out laboratory investigations for the identification of epidemics disease outbreaks and reporting to the Senior Laboratory Technician.
f) Maintaning an inventory of all equipment and submitting the list to the principal Laboratory Technician.
g) Carrying out support supervision and ensuring that staff adhere to professional code of conducts. h) Participating in Primary Health Care activites and collaborative
research activities i) Training of students,other health workers and assessment of their performance. j) Compliling periodic laboratory reports and submitting to Senior Laboratory Technician..
